Chester has the Eastgate Clock, the Roman walls and the old Rows, and it’s a busy city to drive in and out of every day.
All that traffic on the A55 and A41 leaves its mark, mind. Traffic film, brake dust and winter salt all build up on paint and wheels, and I can get the car properly clean and protected again.

How do I get to the studio from Chester?
Head out of the city on the A41 towards Whitchurch and keep going south. Tattenhall is signed off the A41, and my studio postcode is CH3 9BD. Allow 20 to 25 minutes, a bit more if you’re leaving at rush hour.
When can I drop the car off?
I’ll agree a day and time when you book. If you work in Chester, dropping it on your way in might be easiest, but tell me what suits you and I’ll sort it.
What does city driving do to paint?
Stop-start traffic means more brake dust on the wheels, and the spray off busy roads leaves a grey film that a quick wash doesn’t shift. Car parks and on-street parking add their share of light marks and swirls too.
Does winter make it worse?
Yes. The A41 and the main roads into Chester get gritted, and that salty spray sits in the lower panels, arches and wheels. If it’s left on all winter it starts to dull the finish.
What would you suggest for a city car?
It depends on the car and how long you’re keeping it, so I’ll look at it first. Maintenance Care Valeting is from £120 if it mainly needs a proper clean. If you want it easier to keep clean, ceramic coatings start from £500, with a machine polish first so the paint is right before it’s sealed.
