Ceramic Coatings for easier upkeep, stronger long-term finish + preservation

When the vehicle takes too much effort to keep looking right, protection is no longer just about gloss. It is about reducing friction, preserving the finish properly, and avoiding the cycle of washing, disappointing results and repeated short-term fixes.

Who ceramic protection is for

Ceramic protection is best suited to owners who want the vehicle kept to a higher standard with less ongoing effort, and who want that result built on the right level of preparation first.

Best suited to:

  • owners who want easier ongoing upkeep
  • vehicles already in strong condition or being prepared properly first
  • owners who want better finish preservation over time
  • drivers who value long-term presentation rather than short-lived protection

What ceramic protection solves

Ceramic protection is recommended where the goal is not just a cleaner finish today, but a vehicle that is easier to maintain properly and better protected over time.

Typical reasons for choosing it:

  • ongoing upkeep feels harder than it should
  • protection is not lasting well enough
  • the finish is harder to keep looking right
  • previous correction or reset work needs preserving properly

Why preparation matters before protection

Ceramic protection should preserve a good standard, not hide a poor one.

Where the finish is tired, marked or below the level you want to keep, the right preparation is addressed first so protection is applied to the right baseline.

That means:

  • protection is not a shortcut over tired paintwork
  • preparation affects the final standard
  • the better the starting point, the better the long-term result

Ceramic Coating routes

Choose this based on how long you want the finish protected, how the vehicle is used, and how seriously you want long-term upkeep supported.

Silazane-based 9H protection with excellent gloss, definition and super-hydrophobic water and dirt repellence.

Matrix Blue is the entry point into Jay’s professional ceramic-coating range. It provides a slick, high-definition finish with strong water and dirt repellence for up to three years.

Its hydrophobic surface helps contamination release more readily, making routine washing and drying more manageable while reducing the need for aggressive cleaning.

9H scratch resistance: Matrix Blue creates a hard, sacrificial surface above the clear coat. This helps resist very light abrasion and fine wash-related marring when the vehicle is washed and dried correctly. It cannot prevent stone chips, key scratches, deep scratches or damage caused by automatic brush washes.

Best suited to:

  • Owners keeping their vehicle for around three years

  • Drivers new to professional ceramic protection

  • Vehicles with lighter paint defects

  • Owners prioritising hydrophobicity and easier maintenance

  • Vehicles likely to be changed within the next few years

This package covers exterior painted surfaces. Wheel and glass protection are separate options unless specifically added.

Medium — £700
Large — £800

9H+ scratch resistance with high gloss, strong hydrophobicity, published UV-resistant protection and up to five years’ durability.

Glisten is the middle option for owners wanting a strong balance of protection, appearance and value over a longer ownership period.

Its hydrophobic finish provides visible water beading, easier washing and drying, and reduced bonding of road film and contamination.

9H+ scratch resistance: Glisten forms a hard, stand-alone nano-ceramic layer above the prepared clear coat. Its 9H+ rating helps improve resistance to very light surface abrasion and fine wash-related marring. It remains scratch-resistant rather than scratch-proof and cannot prevent stone chips, sharp scratches, car-park damage or damage caused by poor washing.

Glisten also provides a published UV-resistant layer to support colour and gloss retention during normal ownership. It cannot repair existing fading, oxidation or clear-coat failure, nor completely prevent all UV-related ageing.

The product is compatible with paint and suitable exterior plastic or vinyl trim. The surfaces included in the package should be confirmed before booking.

Best suited to:

  • Owners keeping their vehicle for approximately three to five years

  • Daily-driven vehicles exposed to regular environmental conditions

  • Customers valuing published UV-resistant protection

  • Owners wanting high gloss and strong hydrophobic performance

  • Suitable vehicles requiring agreed exterior-trim protection

Choose Glisten over Matrix Blue when you want longer potential durability, 9H+ hardness and its particular combination of gloss, hydrophobicity and published UV resistance.

Small — £750
Medium — £850
Large — £950

Professional 5D 9H protection with exceptional colour enrichment, ultra-hydrophobic slickness and up to eight years’ durability.

Matrix Black is the longest-lasting and most appearance-focused option in Jay’s standard ceramic-coating range.

What does 5D mean? “5D” is the name for Matrix Black’s professional coating formulation, designed to deliver exceptional shine, sharper definition, greater colour depth and metallic clarity alongside an ultra-hydrophobic, super-slick finish. It does not mean five separate coating layers or that the coating is five times stronger, thicker or impossible to damage.

9H scratch resistance: Matrix Black cures into a hard, high-slip protective surface. This helps resist fine wash-related marring, micro-scratching and very light abrasion when the vehicle is maintained correctly. Its slickness can also reduce friction during suitable washing. It cannot prevent stone chips, key scratches, heavy abrasion or physical impact.

Matrix Black uses a different formulation from Matrix Blue, engineered for a longer service period and extended protective performance. Its potential eight-year duration depends on correct preparation, accredited application, full curing, vehicle use, environmental exposure and suitable long-term aftercare.

Best suited to:

  • Owners keeping their vehicle beyond five years

  • Customers wanting the longest standard-range protection

  • Drivers prioritising colour depth, gloss and metallic definition

  • Dark, rich or metallic paint finishes

  • Owners wanting ultra-hydrophobic performance and slickness

  • Customers committed to appropriate long-term maintenance

Choose Matrix Black over Glisten when maximum standard-range durability, colour enrichment and the Matrix 5D finish are the main priorities—not because an eight-year coating is impossible to scratch.

This package covers exterior painted surfaces. Wheel and glass protection are separate options unless specifically added.

Medium — £1,050
Large — £1,150

Ceramic Pro Coatings

For owners specifically wanting the Ceramic Pro professional coating system.

Ceramic Pro remains separate from our standard ceramic range because its value is based on the branded system, coating specification and applicable manufacturer warranty.

Warranty eligibility, registration and maintenance requirements are confirmed before booking.

A Ceramic Pro protection package for owners wanting professionally installed branded ceramic protection over a shorter ownership period.

Two years protection

Bronze is the entry point into the Ceramic Pro range. It is intended for owners wanting professionally installed branded ceramic protection over a shorter ownership period.

Included:

  • Full exterior preparation

  • Paint decontamination and inspection

  • Single-stage paint enhancement

  • Ceramic Pro paint protection

  • Professional application and indoor curing

Light surface resistance: Ceramic Pro Bronze creates a sacrificial ceramic layer above the clear coat, helping reduce very light abrasion and fine wash-related marring when the vehicle is washed correctly.

Bronze does not provide the 9H coating system specified in Silver and Gold. It cannot prevent stone chips, deep scratches, automatic-brush damage or physical impact.

The exact coating specification and final scope are confirmed following assessment.

5 year Ceramic Pro coating

Silver is intended for owners wanting longer-lasting Ceramic Pro protection without moving into a multi-layer 9H package.

9H scratch resistance: The 9H layer forms a hard, sacrificial barrier above the prepared clear coat. It provides useful resistance to very fine surface abrasion and light wash-related marring, particularly when combined with careful washing.

Top Coat: The final Top Coat layer increases gloss, visual clarity, slickness and water repellence. It helps water, dirt and grime release more easily while adding a further protective layer over the 9H coating.

Neither layer makes the vehicle scratch-proof. Stone chips, sharp scratches, collisions and damage caused by abrasive washing remain outside the system’s protection.

Included:

  • Full exterior preparation

  • Paint decontamination and inspection

  • Single-stage paint enhancement

  • One layer of Ceramic Pro 9H

  • One layer of Ceramic Pro Top Coat

  • Professional application and indoor curing

Small — £850
Medium — £1,000
Large — £1,150

Multi-layer Ceramic Pro paint protection

Gold is intended for owners wanting a more comprehensive Ceramic Pro paint-protection system with multiple layers of Ceramic Pro 9H.

Multi-layer scratch resistance: Four 9H layers create more coating build and a more substantial sacrificial barrier than a single-layer system. This can provide greater resistance to very light abrasion and fine wash-related marring while supporting longer-term protection.

The additional layers do not multiply the 9H hardness rating or provide four times the scratch resistance. Stone chips, key scratches, heavy abrasion and physical impact can still penetrate or damage the coating and paint.

Top Coat: The final Top Coat layer increases surface slickness, gloss, visual clarity and hydrophobic performance. It helps water, dirt and grime release more readily while adding a further protective layer over the multi-layer 9H system.

Included:

  • Full exterior preparation

  • Paint decontamination and inspection

  • Single-stage paint enhancement

  • Four layers of Ceramic Pro 9H

  • One layer of Ceramic Pro Top Coat

  • Professional application and indoor curing

Comprehensive exterior and interior Ceramic Pro protection

Platinum is the most extensive Ceramic Pro option in the guide. It combines greater paint correction with multi-layer paint protection and treatment for additional exterior and interior surfaces.

Multi-layer scratch resistance: The multi-layer paint system creates increased coating build and a more substantial sacrificial barrier above the clear coat. This can provide greater resistance to very light abrasion and fine wash-related marring than a single-layer system.

Greater paint correction improves the finish before protection, but neither the correction process nor the coating makes the paint scratch-proof. It cannot prevent stone chips, deep scratches, car-park damage or heavy physical abrasion.

The exact paint-coating and top-layer specification is confirmed before booking.

Final pricing depends on paint condition, correction requirements, wheel design, interior materials and overall vehicle complexity.
